This is not the homework blog! This is the post to check on the caterpillars! Please hit previous post until you find the one labeled with the week and date of our class.
Well, surprise! Our insects came in this Friday, unexpectedly.
You will start your observation journal in class this week (week 20) by copying my day 1 obervations and any additional information you glean from the photos, plus adding your day 5 observations from class, and then continue to check on this page for updates from your class caterpillar caretaker.
Day 1 1/27/2017
4 caterpillars, length just over 1 cm long. There is webbing present in the container and the caterpillars are moving slowly.

Day 5: January 31, 2015. Observations made in person in class. Please add your details. *Apparently there are 5 caterpillars (don't know where the other one was hiding). Largest caterpillars now almost 2 cm in length.
Day 12 2/7/2017
5 caterpillars, length now 4 cm! They are eating a lot (pooping a lot) and seem like they will be getting to create their chrysalis soon.

Day 14, Feb 9th. All the caterpillars entered their chrysalis today! photos will be posted this evening.
Day 26, Feb 21st. Three butterflies emerged today after class. I've supplied them with clementines to snack on and hopefully they will be happy to hang on until next week to visit class.
